EA Sports has decided to change FIFA 17 engine

EA Sports has decided to change FIFA 17 engine for their latest football title, FIFA 17, with this year's entry in the ongoing series switching to the Frostbite engine (previously it was built in Ignite). United forward Anthony Martial and Chelsea winger Eden Hazard are also involved, providing advice as well as being signed up as performance capture athletes to utilise the new and improved Frostbite game engine.
The FIFA 17 latest trailer shows story mode character Alex Hunter on the rise at Manchester United, with commentator Martin Tyler providing the voiceover. EA now own the rights to Star Wars video games, and while there was no official announcement of new games there was a hefty showcase of all the development studios working on Star Wars games at the moment. There will be further content to DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront coming, working alongside EA Motive who look to also be working on a VR Star Wars project. T
he two most intriguing reveals, however, came with the news that Titanfall creators Respawn Entertainment will be working on a third-person Star Wars action game and the first look at Visceral Games narrative driven adventure, due in 2018. We saw some concept art and some very early footage. Visceral’s game is being penned by former Uncharted lead Amy Hennig, and even the first glimpse had a clear echo of that game.
The video begins with the news that Hunter has rejected a host of big-name clubs in favour of United, and shows the youngster in training before making his first appearance off the bench for the Red Devils. September is looming, and we all know what that means. It's battle of the football games, and once again FIFA 17 and PES 2017 are going head to head. The engine is used throughout other EA games, such as Dragon Age and Star Wars: Battlefront. This was one of the deciding factors when making the switch, explained FIFA 17 Producer Nick Channon. Our players told us they wanted to see beyond the pitch, they wanted to see behind the scenes, to really try and feel what it's like to be a professional footballer and I think that's really what we try to do with the journey of a young player coming through trying to establish himself in a premier league team and some of the things that go on behind that.
That's really what we've tried to do with that mode, make it sort of feel that you're acting out that journey and I think it's a great addition to the FIFA 17 game. While it remains to be seen when or whether players will get to decide on representation, transfers and living arrangements, EA's website shows Hunter given options to respond in a post-match press conference, with players invited to make 'critical decisions' to change Hunter's career.
