Some of my biggest grips are the unnatural dialogue and forced interactions. Someone with Lee's experience could help execute the cinematics better. On the flip side of rivalries why not allow us to become friends with various players throughout the league? We could practice together in the offseason, and even team up when we become free agents. This is something that would add more depth to the game. 2k Sports have the rights for the Euro teams, so why don’t they use it in MyCareer? It doesn’t make sense to me that we are just some no-name player that came out of nowhere and is now all of a sudden in the NBA. What if they allowed us to play in the Euro league tournament and allow us to make a name for ourselves?

 

Doing the draft combine and based on that deciding where we will go in the draft would be good. It’s not like they have not done this before. It was fun playing a few games with just the upcoming rookies, and seeing our draft stock go up or down after games. If we perform poorly perhaps we get drafted in the second round, get sent to the D-League, and then get called up. One particular element of gripe a lot of players will have is the monetization of the NBA 2K17 title and the series in general. 2K Games has transitioned to “VC” or virtual currency in an attempt to garner money and push their online marketplace: the “2K Sports Store.” 

 

Luckily, you never need to spend actual money for “VC” to get any of the items in the game as playing games for your team in MyCareer nets you a VC salary. It just naturally takes longer is the only issue about it. Many people will find this annoying, but the one thing I have problem with this design is sheer accessibility. MyCareer is extensive but it is not the only mode of NBA 2K17. MyLeague and MyGM return and allows you to work in a NBA free for all structure where you can control an entire franchise for 80 seasons. MyTeam is another contender that returns but the conversations between your players and you has taken a real turn for the worst almost bordering on comical.

 

Say I'm playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Andrew Wiggins hits a game-tying three-point shot with two seconds left. Reason to celebrate, right? Well, because TV timeouts aren't factored in and coaching AI is less than stellar, no timeouts are called and Wiggins gets stuck in a celebation animation. Without a timeout, the 76ers are able to drive down the court with their five guys against four -- because Wiggins is caught in the animation -- and take the victory for themselves

 

MyCareer has been one of the most popular modes 2K Sports have created but there is still a ways to go into making it into the experience NBA 2K Basketball fans are looking for. Here are our list of must have improvements in NBA 2K17 to take MyCareer to the next level. Again, that’s not something that they haven’t done before. It would also be nice for the other rookies draft spots to be changed up with based off their performance. And make our performance affect our overall.
