That’s a rule Daum hopefully knows already, else it might not have asked the entire Black Desert community to vote on whether or not to allow auto-path looping in the sandbox. Three years ago, The Licensing Letter weighed global retails sales for Batman and Superman at $771M combined. Today there was an emergency maintenance, the developers took advantage of it to introduce “autolooping,” a feature that already existed in the original Korean server and that does exactly what it says on the tin.

There are similar issues with the game's itemization system, which feels bare compared to other MMORPGs. Finding a new piece of loot is always something to look forward to in these types of games. It serves as a visual representation of time you've invested into the game and a reflection of your overall skill level. That isn't the case in Black Desert Online. The appearance of gear you can equip is generic and rarely changes despite any stat differences. Meanwhile, the only cool outfits you can wear are those you have to pay for with cash.

Like many other Korean games, it took a while for Black Desert Online to find a publisher in the West. First released to Korean audiences in 2014, the game has seen multiple content additions and patches, much of which have yet to make their way over to the new international version. It's as polished as any game with two years of constant iteration and updates can be expected to be, but a lot of the content Korean gamers have had for a while is only going to make its way in some months from now.

The closest analog to these new services might be SlingTV, which offers internet-based streaming packages, live content, and on-demand content from a handful of channels on devices such as smartphones, gaming systems, and set-top boxes, without the need for a cable or satellite subscription. If AT&T is able to offer all four major networks — CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox — plus ESPN and HBO, it could be one of the first to offer internet-based television that truly competes with a cable provider. But until we know more, such as pricing and content availability, it remains a question mark just how compelling these new services will be.

Unfortunately, one of the few productive outcomes of this tragic and alarming circumstance  is that cities and municipalities across the nation, particularly poor and communities of color, are reassessing and evaluating the areas where environmental justice related incidents most effects them. We pause to pray for the peace, safety and comfort of the tens of thousands of residents who are experiencing this water crisis, and as unfathomable and unconscionable as this human tragedy is.

It would equally defy all belief if as a State and region we had not experienced such environmental justice related abuses before. While many bring up philosophical reasons for those policies, the real issue is that by encouraging players to actually log off when they’re not actively playing, the strain on the servers is reduced. Black Desert Online is different. Since launch, it already included an autofishing feature, allowing player to just leave their characters online while fishing, gathering precious seafood (albeit more slowly than while fishing actively) that could then be processed or sold.
