Basketball simulation video game "NBA 2K17" continues to be a top and popular game. But it cannot be denied that many are already looking forward to "NBA 2K17," especially since the current basketball season is having some changes — from the player lineup to the player stats. One change that publisher 2K Sports took notice of is Stephen Curry's actual gameplay. Solid Oak Sketches alleges that 2K Games was well aware that they needed to get licensing rights for these athletes’ tattoos, since they contacted them multiple times over it. They offered 2K a licensing fee of $ 1.1 million.

 

This is no mere nuisance lawsuit. As current copyright laws stand, tattoo companies and artists actually retain the copyright for the tattoos they put on people, unless they sign waivers giving them over. However, scores of Bryant fans on social media are petitioning for the Los Angeles Lakers icon to be honored as the cover athlete for the next installment of the popular video game series. There is always the possibility that 2K Sports launches an alternative Kobe Bryant-themed edition, similar to the higher priced “Michael Jordan Special Edition,” which included a Jordan NBA 2K17 poster, a Jordan fathead wall cling, digital Jordan shoes, jersey and t-shirt for MyPlayer, besides 30,000 addition VC and MyTeam VIP benefits. 

 

But would fans be ready to pay $20 more for a Kobe Bryant special edition? They surely would. Recent data revealed that the MJ Special Edition was highly demanded during the Christmas and Black Friday shopping sprees. If marketed right, Bryant’s special edition could prove to be the highest-selling 2K game in history. And that’s no exaggeration. NBA 2K17 was the only previous instance of Bryant as the cover athlete. The previous edition featured interchangeable covers and featured three different athletes – Curry, Anthony Davis and James Harden.

 

Don’t be surprised if 2K launches a similar special edition for Bryant, since that would be a win-win situation. It would be difficult to ignore Curry as the cover athlete. After all, he is due to win his second back-to-back MVP award and most likely finish the season with a second championship. With the rumored addition of the two leagues, NB2K17 should keep a lot of the hoop nuts busy. Though there is no mention of how long it would take for players to level up their players, from all indications it will take some time unless the advanced gamers come up with new cheats, tips and/or tricks to level up players faster.

 

There is no word on what kind of music genre were in focus but word has it that the choice span from different years. NBA 2K17 is reportedly all set for a September 29 release so don’t miss it. According to Attack of the Fanboy, the Golden State Warriors star is playing so well in real life that 2K Sports will need to change Curry's avatar in the next game in order to match up with what he can do on the real court. Apparently, the NBA 2K17 counterpart of Curry can't keep up and that is what they are planning to change. Gameplay director Mike Wang spoke to IGN and said that "it's not as much about changing Curry himself, as it is changing the way to succeed while using him as a player." Wang revealed that playing as Curry in the video game can already make the gamer get high scores especially for those skilled players.
