If you’re looking to force interceptions, controlling a member of the secondary remains advantageous since you’re more likely to pick off a pass when you’re in the driver’s seat, rather than when trusting the AI. The behind-the-back view that works so well for a pass rusher is disorienting when you swing over to a safety or corner back, but on-the-fly adjustments allow you to switch to the classic camera angle that’s more advantageous in these circumstances. Still, you’re more equipped to defend passes than ever before as long as long as you stay tight on a receiver, and barreling through a strong offensive line to drag a top quarterback to the ground is supremely satisfying. Systems that previously felt automated now require your undivided attention, giving you more reasons to stay engaged in all four quarters of a game.

 

Play the skill games to learn the new tricks. If you need help learning to play defense, then I highly suggest going through the defensive tutorials, and practicing what they teach you. These steps and tips will help you become a better player in the long run, and also update you on new things that were added to the game. Don't move players far from their designated areas. One thing I have seen in the past, and when playing with friends is that they will take a zone player before the snap and decide to run in on my quarter back with that player. While that player typically gets through, I can usually read that play, and send a player to that area, and make an easy catch, and easy first down. So do not move players from their area to run in. Instead take a player who is rushing the QB anyways, and try sneaking around the offensive line for an easy sack.

 

First off, keep small time limits. If you are selling a player, and actively playing, do not put big time limits. Players who are searching for players, unless looking for legendary players will want to players now. They will not want to have to wait significant amounts of time to receive their player. Always have players, or cards on the auction house. When you are going to get offline, set auctions to finish when you know you will be on next. I would suggest always having players on the auction house, that way you can always be generating some income even if you are not playing. While its not a race for coins, the more coins you have, the better you set yourself up to play a better game in the long run.

 

Connected Franchise retains its immersive main menu, complete with news articles and a fake Twitter feed that reflects what the media says about you and your team. It's quite easy to get completely submerged in this rich mode, so remember to step outside for air every now and then. Ultimate Team is one of Madden's most popular modes, and EA didn't make any major alterations to it, aside from streamlining the main menu and making it easier to send new cards to your sets - essentially virtual binders that yield an award once you complete them. You can still earn coins for card packs by completing offline challenges, or test your team against the globe in online competitive seasons.

 

Madden NFL 16 makes a lot of great progression in a year without a ton of new features have been added. I really enjoy the new passing mechanic on both sides of the ball, and the new tweaks make it just feel more like real football. Again I will likely sink close to a hundred hours in my play of Madden this year - the new game play features are some of the best in years, and I can’t wait to see them fleshed out over time. Once again Madden comes highly recommended for fans of the pigskin, and as always, kicks off the best time of year to be a gamer.

 

New iterations of sports games change so little usually that buying every single game year to year isn't worth unless you're a superfan. "Madden NFL 16" is just one of those sports games that you should get because it fixes a lot of previous problems, and it's much more fun to play as a result of that.
