EA Sports revealed its newest game mode called "Draft Champions Mode," in Madden NFL 16 which will combine both fantasy football and video games. It was designed to bring the excitement and unpredictable world of fantasy football to Madden. This room is called Art McNally GameDay Central, in honor of the longtime official and officiating executive. But on Sunday it’s Replay Central. In this space, 42 feet long and 36 feet wide, Blandino and Riveron ride herd on the first-year replay system and consult with referees on the field and replay officials in far-off stadium replay booths for every review in every NFL game.

 

Madden NFL 16 delivers all-new controls that allow you to dominate in the battle for air supremacy. New QB mechanics including body-relative throws, plus touch and roll out passes provide you with unprecedented depth and control while under center. Combined with a new risk/reward catch and pass-defend system, get ready for the biggest WOW moments in franchise history. Punters aren't the most appreciated players in the NFL, but there's a scarcity of stars at the position who can consistently stick and do the singular, high-pressure job they're tasked with on the gridiron.

 

“This year, we’re introducing new ways for fans to Be the Playmaker both on and off the field,” Rex Dickson, the creative director for “Madden NFL 16” said. “It all starts with Draft Champions, which is Madden’s own unique take on fantasy football. You start with a base team, then you have 15 rounds to pick players to improve your squad. Each round you select from one of three guys, and the players offered are a mix of current stars and legends. Once you’ve picked a team, you can take the field in special events either against other drafted teams or against the CPU. Once you finish an event you draft a brand new team and restart the experience. It’s a great, quick way to play the game in a new way.”

 

EA Sports are a bunch of liars. We know this. It’s part of the legacy. You could call it tradition. Nintendo doesn’t get online multiplayer, Microsoft makes hilarious cross-entertainment blunders, and EA Sports lies. They know they lie, and they do it anyway. How many times have you been sitting through the E3 press conferences only to be confronted by some paid silver-tongue, promising that this year’s Madden will fix all the wrongs and woes of previous Maddens, and all shall crumble under our great new path towards football nirvana? Then we get a trailer that is stridently proclaimed to be taken completely out of the in-game engine (probably not,) and they exit stage right to thunderous applause. Now Madden 16 is in your hands and guess what! The tackles still feel kinda awkward, the players still look like degenerates, and the gussied-up side attractions are still only skin deep. It was all a lie. I’m so used to the deception that another mediocre Madden actually feels cozy.

 

Early in my first game of Madden 16, the CPU-controlled quarterback attempted to hit a receiver heading out of bounds. He threw the ball high enough to prevent me, playing as a defensive back, from undercutting the route and picking off the pass; improved pass targeting is an important feature this year. So I decided to play the man instead of the ball. Don’t share your login information with anyone - Not even your closest friends and relatives. You can't control how they’ll use your info, or how secure their system might be.

 

Generally I like to set my buyout to be slightly below the median and my starting bid towards the lower end of the last 10 selling prices. While I might not get as many coins this way, this almost always prevents me from having to relist the item once it expires which greatly improves efficiency. Also, I always list my items for one hour (unless it is late at night) so that I'm not tying up one of my 20 active auction house listings for longer than necessary.

 

Players still awkwardly fall over each other as plays conclude and receivers are too often outmatched by similarly skilled corners, but even so, Madden 16 is the spark that this series needed. Controlling players on defense finally feels both fun and functional, and more informative playcalling gives newer players context for the technical side of the game. The feature set remains fundamentally unchanged, but each of the core modes have increased in breadth and decreased in clutter, making it easy to dig into features that might have seemed too dense from a distance. Madden 16 looks sharper than ever, but its biggest achievement is its dedication to improving core systems that have held the series back in the past.
